When Peggy Met Ella

Shireen and Sarah Moule launched their new show 'When Peggy Met Ella' at Thames Ditton on 30th September 2012. Peggy Lee and Ella Fitzgerald performed together on Benny Goodman's TV show Swing Into Spring in 1959, and this musical meeting is the starting point for Shireen and Sarah’s exploration of their music and lives.

Both Peggy and Ella overcame their difficult starts in life to become renowned worldwide as the epitome of popular singing. Naturally sacrifices had to be made. In this show which includes many of their signature songs and personal favourites of Shireen and Sarah’s, songs are interlaced with details of these iconic singers' careers and insights into their turbulent lives.

The show was performed at Leighton Buzzard Central Theatre, Exeter Barnfield Theatre and Sudbury Theatre in 2013.

"Last night I saw Sarah Moule and Shireen Francis at The Quay in Sudbury where they served up first class entertainment. They were sensational! And, from the reaction, the rest of the audience would agree with me. Their voices are incredible and the emotion they put into the songs immense. And they were backed up by a very accomplished pianist. Altogether, the evening was complete pleasure and I look forward to seeing them again (and again, and ...)."
